One Piece Chapter 1155 Summary
Loki Meets Rocks on Elbaph
On the island of Elbaph, Prince Loki was shocked to see Rocks D. Xebec and his infamous crew — and even more surprised, as it was his first time meeting humans. Rocks quickly discovered that Loki was the son of Harald and ordered him to return home, telling him to send word that his son had been gravely injured.
Loki refused, believing Rocks was weaker than him and doubting that Harald would care. In a bold move, he attacked Rocks — but was effortlessly knocked back. Known for wielding his sword like a hammer or cannonball, Rocks struck with such force that Loki was left injured, giving Rocks a reason to contact Harald.
The Levely Incident and the Clash of Kings
In the past, during a Levely meeting, Harald had secretly infiltrated the event. Rocks was also there, creating chaos by abducting five kings and even managing to reach the legendary Room of Flowers, where he encountered Imu. Although his plan to use the kings as leverage failed — as Imu dismissed their importance — Rocks left with a promise to return someday.
Meanwhile, Harald was wrongly blamed for Rocks’ crimes, prompting the Marines to pursue him across the Holy Land. Their paths crossed during Rocks’ escape, leading to a powerful clash. Both unleashed their Haki with such intensity that it blew away everyone within five kilometers.
Rocks warned Harald that capture meant enslavement and advised him to strike at the town to create chaos. After escaping, Rocks invited Harald to meet again, but Harald refused to associate with a criminal. From that day forward, Rocks became one of the most wanted pirates, his infamy growing after severely injuring a Marine Admiral, attacking a World Government tribute ship, and destroying the Gates of Justice.
The Rise of Rocks D. Xebec
Using stolen wealth and his cunning nature, Rocks began his pirate career, winning powerful allies through Davy Back Fights. By the time he returned to Elbaph, six formidable warriors followed him, though they had yet to form the official Rocks Pirates.
When Loki contacted Harald, he was surprised that his father returned home — unaware Loki had once tried to take his own life. Harald asked Rocks why he was on Elbaph, and Rocks revealed his true goal: to recruit him. Harald refused, insisting it would ruin the progress Elbaph had made. Rocks argued that as giants, they had the power to live freely without bowing to the World Government.
Tensions Within the Crew
Harald warned Rocks’ crew that following him would only lead to disaster. Shiki, then still a mobster, openly admitted he felt no loyalty to Rocks. Miss Buckin, the “Science Robber,” agreed but revealed Rocks’ plan to make them all rich.
A West Blue gangster named Don Marlon brought up Hachinosu, or “Pirate Island” — once a dumping ground for the most dangerous criminals. According to a young Edward Newgate, the island had no food and prisoners were left to die. However, the Pirate Guru Ochoku explained that in recent years, the criminals had built a settlement, thanks to a gold discovery that underground groups helped exploit for massive profit.
Rocks’ Grand Ambition – King of the World
Rocks told Harald that reaching Hachinosu was difficult, so he made a fake deal with the World Government to claim it for them. In truth, he planned to seize it for himself and turn it into a pirate paradise. From there, he intended to destroy the Marines and the Holy Land — ultimately becoming the King of the World.
Harald warned him that such a plan would make him the enemy of the entire world, but Rocks dismissed the danger, claiming no organization lasts forever. He believed Harald’s unmatched strength could help him achieve his dream. Harald still refused — but Loki, who overheard, was awestruck and began to see Rocks as his savior.
The Birth of the Rocks Pirates
Over the next four years, Rocks repeatedly tried and failed to recruit Harald. Yet, despite these failures, he gathered enough power to take control of Hachinosu. With that victory, the Rocks Pirates were officially born — marking the rise of one of the most dangerous crews in One Piece history.
